The Management Information Exchange is sponsoring two conferences for legal aid professionals in Chicago in late July. The first, MIE’s National Directors Conference, will be held on July 21 and 22 and will focus on how legal aid programs can maximize their impact during difficult economic times.

Laurie I. Mikva, who served for nearly 30 years as a civil legal aid attorney and a public defender in Illinois and Maryland, was confirmed by the Senate on June 19 to become a member of the Board of Directors for the Legal Services Corporation.
