The 2017 Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Conference will take place on September 28-29, 2017 at the Hilton Harrisburg Hotel, One North Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.

Registration is free for staff and board members of Pennsylvania's network of legal aid programs. Registration for staff of non-PLAN public interest, government or other nonprofit organization is $275.00. The cost for all other registrants is $450.00. Registration includes meals and conference materials. 

PLEASE NOTE:  THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR THE CONFERENCE IS  SEPTEMBER 15, 2017.

The conference will feature an multiple-track agenda offering many helpful workshops for legal services staff, board members and other friends of the legal services community. CLE credits are available for attorneys who attend qualifying sessions. Pedro Cortés, Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will be the featured speaker at lunch and will participate in the plenary session following lunch on September 28.

If you are a staff member or board member of one of our legal aid programs and you need hotel reservations, please indicate that on the registration form. We will add your name to the rooming list. Room, tax and self-parking will be direct billed to PLAN and our fiscal department will reconcile later with your program. 

If you need a hotel room and are NOT a PLAN Member Program Staff Person please indicate your overnight needs for a room on the registration form and PLAN will make the reservation for you but you will need to provide payment for the room on your own upon check-in.

This year, there will be many helpful workshops for legal services staff, board members and other friends of the legal services community. CLE credits are available for attorneys who attend qualifying sessions.  The number of CLE credits being offered is still being calculated and will be added to the registration shortly. 

There will also be a Pre-Conference day, Wednesday, September 27, 2017, featuring several specialized training programs for PLAN Network Program staff members.

A LegalServer training will take place on September 27 at the PA Housing Finance Agency Building at 211 North Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17101. This program is designed for application administrators, report designers, and intermediate to advanced users, who will learn about specialized LegalServer features, problem solving, and managing the effective use of LegalServer.

Jeff Hogue of LegalServer will deliver the training. IV Ashton of LegalServer plans to attend and also assist with the training in the afternoon. He will also be presenting two sessions that are being planned for the first day of the statewide conference, geared to a broader audience. We are still working with program staffs to determine the full range of advanced pre-conference training topics. More details will be provided as soon as they are known. 

There will also be an Administrative Hearing Skills Pre-Conference Training on September 27 at the Hilton Harrisburg Hotel.  This interactive training, geared towards newer attorneys and paralegals, will combine lecture with two small group workshops.  The training will be limited to THE FIRST THIRTY REGISTRANTS. Registrations exceeding thirty will be waitlisted.

Experienced attorneys and paralegals are welcome to attend should space be available.  However, priority will be given to our intended audience. The goal of this training is to assist public interest attorneys in honing their administrative hearing skills. 

PLEASE NOTE: THIS SESSION WILL INVOLVE HOMEWORK. ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED WELL IN ADVANCE OF THIS TRAINING.

SEPARATE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE PRE-CONFERENCE DAY PROGRAMS.
