Chief Justice Contributes to "JUST Stories" Recognizing Work of Public Interest Advocates

Pennsylvania Chief Justice Ron Castille has added his 'patch' to the JUST Stories Video Quilt that is featured on the Celebrate Pro Bono website.

Every day, lives are changed when our poorest and most vulnerable citizens gain access to the legal system. The JUST Stories video quilt offers stories of justice from public interest advocates that significantly impacted the lives of their clients as well as their own.

Community Legal Services Executive Director Cathy Carr and PLAN Board Member Jim DeAngelo, of McNees Wallace and Nurick, are also currently featured in the quilt. Others from Pennsylvania currently contributing to the quilt include:

  • Tom Cook, Schmidt Kramer, Harrisburg
  • Christopher Dreisbach, Robinson and Geraldo, Harrisburg
  • Amy Foerster, Saul Ewing, Harrisburg
  • Nathaniel Holmes, The Chartwell Law Ofices, Harrisburg
  • Laurie McGowan, Corporate Counsel, Blue Cross, Harrisburg
  • Dorothy Mott, Sole Practioner, Harrisburg
  • Mark Silliker, Silliker and Reinhold, Harrisburg
  • Thomas Wimmer, Sole Practiioner, Hershey

Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. salutes the Chief Justice and all the others contributing to the quilt for their efforts in promoting justice for all.

Celebrate Pro Bono, and the website, is an initiative of the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service. It undertook this initiative because of the increasing need for pro bono services during these harsh economic times and the unprecedented response of attorneys to meet this demand.

Watch all the clips, submit your own JUST Story and get additional information on the Celebrate Pro Bono initiative on the Celebration website: www.celebrateprobono.org.
