Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. (PLAN) will be holding a training program entitled Avoid Foreclosure Update in Harrisburg on December 7, 2010 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The program will provide instruction on the following topics:

• Federal/State HEMAP Programs
• Faulty Documents/Defective Affidavits/Assignments/Amounts Owed/Chain of Obligation
• HAMP Program and Procedures
• Predatory Lending
• Diversion Programs and/or Workouts & Litigation Avoidance
• Tenant Issues When a Property is Foreclosed Upon 
   

CLE Credit:

The program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 5.5 hours of substantive law, practice and procedure CLE.

Legal Aid Staff and Housing Counselors:

This program will be free for all legal aid staff working at PLAN member programs, as well as to Housing Counselors affiliated with PHFA.

PLAN will reimburse PLAN programs for travel and housing expenses incurred by PLAN program advocates attending the December 7 training program.

Reimbursement of lodging expenses will be available for the evening of December 6 for advocates traveling significant distances to attend this training. Reimbursement of lodging expenses will also be available for the evening of December 7 for those advocates who attend this program and want to stay over in Harrisburg to attend the Legal Aid Attorney Guide to Collecting Attorney Fees in Consumer Cases program offered by PLAN in Harrisburg on December 8, 2010. This program takes place from 9:30 am-12:00 pm. on December 8. Additional information on the program is available here.
