For 27 years, Lackawanna Pro Bono has advanced equal justice by providing free civil legal representation in Lackawanna County to people who have very low incomes by matching them with private attorneys who donate their services.

Lackawanna Pro Bono is seeking an individual to lead the organization upon the current Executive Director’s retirement later this year. The Executive Director oversees the organization’s operations, including: 

  • Program development and administration;
  • Recruiting and supporting pro bono volunteers;
  • Screening clients and matching them to pro bono volunteers;
  • Staff supervision;
  • Financial management;
  • Fundraising; and,
  • Administrative activities.  

This is a full-time onsite position. The Executive Director reports to the organization’s Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Active law license (PA preferred);
  • Broad general practice knowledge;
  • Non-profit experience preferred;
  • A minimum of 5-10 years work experience;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills;
  • The ability to work independently and as a team; and,
  • Commitment to equal justice for all.

Compensation and benefits:

Compensation will depend on experience. Health, dental, and vision insurance.
