Fall 2011 HotDocs & A2J Training

LawHelp Interactive - Legal documents made simplerLawHelp Interactive will be holding its Fall 2011 HotDocs and A2J Training on August 11-12, 2011 at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Chicago, Illinois.

The training will have one beginner track for people who are new HotDocs and A2J author. If there is enough interest, an advanced track will be developed with help from those requesting advanced training. The training will be taught by Capstone Practice Systems and the Center for Access to Justice and Technology at Chicago-Kent.

Registration for this training is free to participating legal aid and pro bono program staff as well as selected court system staff.

Travel, Lodging, and Meals

Participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meal costs. Do not make any arrangements until Pro Bono Net confirms your registration. Depending on interest we may organize a group outing to go out to dinner on Thursday evening. This is a voluntary event and optional and the costs of the dinner are not covered by the training organizers.

Chicago Kent-Law has an agreement with local hotels, and you can find more information here: http://www.kentlaw.edu/adm/visit/hotels.html. To get the benefit of the rates, you need to input the IIT code into the reservation quote. The Club Quaters hotel is nearby the Law School and it is withing walking distance. It has rooms that start at $139.00. To get this rate you need to book early. You don't have to stay in any of these hotels, these are just recommendations.

Computer and Homework

You must bring a laptop with HotDocs Developer 10 and A2J Author 4.0 installed. A HotDocs Developer 10 license may be purchased at a discount by eligible organizations from the HotDocs Corporation. For information on this see http://www.lsc.gov/pdfs/HotDocsLetter.pdf.

Prior to the training, new developers must do the "homework" listed here to prepare for the formal training.

Registration

Please fill out the registration form at the link below to register for the training. It is expected that 12-15 trainees will be accommodated and registration will be first come first served. You are not registered until you receive email confirmation from Pro Bono Net staff that you are registered.
