Webinar: Advance Care Planning and Medical-Legal Partnership

The National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership is hosting a free webinar entitled Advance Care Planning and Medical-Legal Partnership on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm Eastern.

This webinar will explore the value of collaboration between lawyers and health care providers in comprehensive advance care planning (ACP) for older adults, with a focus on medical-legal partnerships (MLP).

Presenters will share a new ACP toolkit produced by the American Bar Association and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine describing evidence-based practices in medical-legal ACP as well as tools designed to help vulnerable patient populations talk to their providers and document their wishes and values. Specific strategies for and examples of a comprehensive approach to ACP through MLP will also be provided.

The National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership, a project in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University, leads education, research, and technical assistance efforts to help every health organization in the United States leverage legal services as a standard part of the way they respond to social needs.
