The Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project is virtually hosting its annual event, entitled Dismantling Barriers to Disability Justice on November 1, 2023 at 6:00 PM Eastern.

At this event, you will hear from PILP clients and staff about the necessary work of upholding disabled individuals' civil rights while incarcerated to ensure humane treatment via adequate accommodations and medical care.

PILP recently sent an advocacy letter on behalf of James Savage, a blind man at SCI Phoenix. You'll hear from James about the conditions he endures in prison and how PILP has already helped him navigate the accommodations process in the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

You'll also hear from Nadirah Shaw, a woman with chronic pain who PILP successfully represented in a lawsuit relating to access to mobility accommodations.

PILP is excited to update you on the details of their important work on behalf of this vulnerable population.

The event is free, but donations are welcome!
