PBA Day on the Hill - May 3, 2010
The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) will be holding its 13th Annual Day on the Hill on May 3, 2010 in Harrisburg.
The right to legal representation and access to the courts for all Pennsylvanians are being threatened by proposed sales taxes on legal services and by inadequate funding that endangers the viability of the courts and civil legal services. This event offers attorneys the opportunity to meet directly with state legislators about these critical tax and funding issues.
The day will include these lobbying and learning opportunities:
- a session outlining key issues of the day
- visits to legislative offices
- afternoon continuing legal education sessions
- an early evening reception with legislators in the Capitol Rotunda
The program provides up to 3.5 Substantive Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.
Continental breakfast and the evening reception with legislators are offered at no cost to attendees.
More information is available by calling 1-800-932-0311, Ext. 2231. Look for additional details on the PBA Web site at www.pabar.org and in future issues of the PBA E-News and Pennsylvania Bar News.
PBA Day on the Hill is a joint effort of the PBA Young Lawyers Division and the PBA Legislative Department and is presented in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, an accredited continuing legal education provider approved by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court CLE Board.
