Pardon Project Steering Committee Town Hall on Board of Pardons Hearings - July 25
The Pardon Project Steering Committee (PPSC) will host its first-ever live Town Hall prep session for pardon candidates whose public hearings are scheduled in August. The Town Hall will be held virtually on July 25, 2022. This discussion will allow others to benefit from the PPSC’s personal experiences and the four years and several hundred pardon hearings Philadlphia Lawyers for Social Equity (PLSE) has observed and analyzed. Registration for this live event is available by clicking here.
PLSE works to uplift communities most affected by social justice inequities by providing assistance to neighborhood organizations and individuals who feel that their criminal record is blocking them from jobs, careers, education, credit, housing and other opportunities. It provides Expungement Help; Pardons Help; Education & Training about criminal records, expungements and pardons and related issues; and through its Fair Employment Opportunities Project, provides advice and representation to people who have been denied jobs or promotions.
The Pardon Project Steering Committee (PPSC) was created in 2018 to ensure PLSE always remained attentive and responsive to the communities it was formed to serve – those hardest-hit by the stigma of criminal record histories. Its members all had lived experience in the criminal justice systems.
