LSC Seeks Session Proposals for 2014 TIG Conference
The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) will be holding the 14th Annual Technology Initiative Grants (TIG) Conference in Jacksonville, FL, January 15-17, 2014 and is currently seeking session proposals for the conference.
LSC’s TIG Conference is the only national event focused exclusively on the use of technology in the legal aid community. The conference provides a unique opportunity to learn about effective uses of technology in legal aid, network with a national community of colleagues and cultivate project ideas that could lead to successful TIG applications.
Session Proposals
Have an idea for a TIG Conference Session? LSC is accepting TIG Conference Session Proposals until August 19, 2013. To submit a proposal, complete the form at http://goo.gl/K8np7.
Session proposals should relate to how the use of technology can:
- provide better self-help tools to assist persons whom legal services providers are not able to represent;
- improve the efficiency and effectiveness of access, triage, intake, and internal legal services delivery operations;
- encourage and support pro bono;
- address Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and other special needs populations;
- deliver services remotely to hard to reach populations; or
- provide legal services staff and pro bono advocates with better litigation and case development support.
Proposals could explore new technology trends or showcase innovative projects to encourage replication.
LSC's Technology Initiative Grant (TIG) Program expands access to justice through promoting technological innovations in legal services delivery and pro se assistance.
Each year the TIG Conference brings together TIG recipients, IT staff, project managers, executive directors, legal services administrators, website coordinators, document assembly developers, attorneys, and others to exchange ideas and explore innovative ways of using technology to promote full access and high-quality legal representation for low-income people.
Presenters for sessions selected may receive travel assistance from LSC. For more information on the 2014 TIG Conference, go to http://tig.lsc.gov/conference/upcoming-conference.
