"LawHelp Interactive" Relaunches with New Look & Name
The New Year marked the official launch of a new design, name and logo for Pro Bono Net’s online document assembly initiative. The service, formerly known as NPADO, has been rebranded as LawHelp Interactive.
As part of the larger redesign of the document assembly system interface, a new LawHelp Interactive logo has been introduced along with a new tagline: “Legal documents made simpler.”
Legal organizations use LawHelp Interactive to create interactive, online interviews that ask people a series of questions about their legal issue and then use the answers to produce needed legal documents. The program makes use of HotDocs software, which is generously donated by Capsoft.
The changes come as LawHelp Interactive’s usage continues to rise. The system was used to complete more than 147,000 documents in 2009, a 32% increase from 2008. Among the most frequently created documents are child support and custody forms; requests for orders of protection for victims of domestic violence; responses to creditors; and forms for eviction and divorce.
The redesign, based on extensive usability testing and developed by Rad Campaign, will make the site easier to use and increase capacity as usage continues to grow. The new name, logo, and tagline will allow Pro Bono Net and others to more effectively communicate LawHelp Interactive’s unique benefits to a variety of audiences.
Law Technology News wrote about LawHelp Interactive in its January 2010 issue. And Pro Bono Law Ontario won this year’s LTN Award for Most Innovative Use of Technology in a Pro Bono Project for its use of LawHelp Interactive in its court-based self-help centers. (See related article.)
LawHelp Interactive forms for Pennsylvania are available on PALawHELP.org and in the library located in the Civil Practice Area of PAProbono.net.
