Free Webinar: Mobile Homes and the American Dream: Protecting Residents' Rights in Manufactured Housing Communities

The Housing Alliance of PA and Regional Housing Legal Services are sponsoring a free webinar entitlted Mobile Homes and the American Dream: Protecting Residents' Rights in Manufactured Housing Communities on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Eastern.

Manufactured housing, or "mobile homes," provide affordable homes to many Pennsylvanians. However, for those living in manufactured housing communities, (also known as land-lease communities), the long-term stability and affordability of these homes can be jeopardized if the community owner decides to sell the community.

Fortunately, there is legislation in the Pennsylvania General Assembly that would give homeowners in manufactured housing communities greater protections. There are also resources available to help residents collectively purchase their communities.

Join the discussion online for an exploration of resident-owned manufactured housing communities, including discussions of resources available to residents and pending legislation.

The webinar, part of the ongoing Virtual Brown Bag series, is designed for residents, community owners, policy makers, local governments, and social service providers who want to learn more about this exciting opportunity.

Speakers will include Carolyn Carter from the National Consumer Law Center, John Wiltse from PathStone, William Shuey from Regional Housing Legal Services, and Cindy Daley from the Housing Alliance of PA.

The webinar is free of charge, but advance registration is requested.
