Homeownership and the Pandemic (Webinar)

Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc.  is offering a webinar entitled Homeownership and the Pandemic on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 10:30 AM–12:00 PM.

This webinar is open to all lawyers, paralegals, and other advocates to discuss the options for homeowners for who have experienced a loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We will talk about what effect the state-wide court closure has had--and will have--on the filing of mortgage foreclosures.  We will discuss the recent announcements from FHFA regarding mortgages owned by Fannie Mae and Ginnie Mac, plus the recent instructions from HUD to servicers of FHA-insured mortgages.

We will also discuss what we currently know about how individual mortgage servicers, such as PHFA, Bank of America, Mr. Cooper, and others will be working with homeowners during the pandemic.   (Of course, since this is a rapidly developing situation, the topics on the webinar may change to reflect what we know on April 1!)

Presenters:

Michael Froehlich, Esq., Community Legal Services

Rachel Labush, Esq., Community Legal Services
