Disability Advocacy Project- SSI/SSDI Training

Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc.  is offering a statewide Continuing Legal Education (CLE) training  on Disability Advocacy Project- SSI/SSDI on January 22-23, 2020 at The PHFA Building, 211 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA  17101. Weather back-up dates are January 29-30, 2020 at PHFA.

The Commonwealth of PA has invested new funding in the Disabillity Advocacy Program (DAP), which funds PLAN-affliated programs to represent clients statewide in SSI and SSDI matters.  For the first time in decades, PLAN programs have new, dedicated funding to expand capacity and develop innovative ways to serve Pennsylvanians with disabilities.

The training will cover the nuts and bolts of SSI/SSDI disability cases, including adult cases, children's cases, continuing disability reviews, the newly revived redetermination process, and age-18 redeterminations.  It will focus on advocacy before Social Security Administration Administrative Law Judges and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Disability Determination.  It will include hands-on practice session on cross-examining Vocational Experts.

The training is appropriate for practitioners at all levels of practice.

Registration:

Registration for this training is free for Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network program staff, and attorneys who provide pro bono services. The cost for registration for attendees other than the above listed groups is $350.00.

Registration includes meals and training materials.

Registration deadline is Friday, January 17 at 4:00 p.m.
Hotel reservation deadline is January 7, 2020.

CLE Credits:

This program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 10 total hours of CLE credit. The breakdown between substantive and ethics will be announced shortly.
