2023 Martin Luther King, Jr. Summer Internship Reception

Please join us for our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Summer Internship Reception, which will be held at the Hilton Harrisburg on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. 

The event promises to be an evening of celebration and inspiration as we reflect on the remarkable legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and honor the accomplishments of our interns, who have spent their summer providing critical legal services to underserved communities throughout Pennsylvania.

As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are proud to reflect on the history of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Summer Internship Program, which was founded in 1991.

Edith Benson, Esq. This year, we have the distinct honor of hosting Edith Benson, one of the key individuals involved in the establishment of the program, as our esteemed Keynote Speaker. She brings with her a wealth of experience, wisdom, and insights from her journey as an advocate for justice and equality. Edith has played a pivotal role in propelling the PLAN minority staff to great success throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and her contributions have previously been recognized with an Excellence Award.

The reception will begin at 5:15 PM, providing guests with an opportunity to connect with fellow attendees and enjoy light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. The recognition program will commence at 6:00 PM, featuring an address from our Keynote Speaker and reflections from the interns’ Drum Major Essay Collection
