Pennsylvania families are paying a lot more for their home energy especially electricity as compared to a few years ago. For some, this is a minor inconvenience, but for the millions of Pennsylvania households with income below self-sufficiency levels these increases drive them further into utility debt that leads to termination of service at alarming rates. Economically vulnerable Pennsylvanians are suffering the consequences of poor planning by regional grid operators, a lack of accountability by regulators, and exponential electricity load increases due to data center development – both speculative and real.
