Free Webinar: Strengthening Local Impact: Identifying Best Practices for Disaster Legal Services Outreach
Date:
Wednesday, May 28, 2025
Time:
3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time
Pro Bono Net, the ABA Young Lawyers Division Disaster Legal Services Program, Equal Justice Works, and the ABA Standing Committee on Disaster Response and Preparedness are hosting a webinar focused on identifying best practices in disaster survivor outreach and understanding how changes in the federal disaster response structure may impact that work.
The webinar will be held on May 28, 2025 from 3:00 PM-4:30 PM Eastern via a Zoom webinar.
This workshop aims to bring together a broad group of stakeholders for a conversation on best practices for raising awareness of disaster legal services amongst disaster survivors. The first portion of the program will highlight successful outreach initiatives from recent disasters across the country. In the program's second half, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences in small groups and provide their perspective on how potential changes to the federal disaster response framework may impact our collective ability to reach disaster survivors.
This event is designed for legal aid attorneys, bar association leaders, pro bono networks, and other stakeholders committed to disaster response and recovery. Your participation will help shape solutions and strengthen support for disaster-affected communities.
Participants are asked to come ready to share their success stories, ideas, and concerns so they can be collected and disseminated to the Disaster Legal Services Program's National Partner Network.
