Webinar: SNAP Cuts are Here - How You Can Help!

Join Community Legal Services of Philadelphia (CLS) attorneys Louise Hayes and Mackenzie Libbey for a webinar on SNAP work requirements on March 9, 2026 from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Eastern.

As harsh work requirements cause Pennsylvanians to lose their SNAP, thousands of families are scrambling to keep food on the table. But you can still help people keep SNAP!

You'll learn how people can get an exemption from new rules and what to do if someone gets terminated from SNAP. Louise and Mackenzie will also identify important issues that we are seeing among CLS's clients and lend their expertise to answer any questions you may have.

Why Attend?

You may have already attended one of CLS's trainings about SNAP work requirements, but people have actually started to lose their benefits. Now that these cuts are a reality, CLS attorneys have unique expertise on what you can do to help people regain their SNAP as quickly as possible!

I am already working with adults who have lost their SNAP as a result of work requirements. What can I do now?

After getting a cutoff notice, the first thing to do is file an appeal right away. Many people can file an appeal on their own or with the help of someone they trust. You do not need to be an attorney to file an appeal. CLS has created this step-by-step guide to show you how to file a SNAP appeal!

Checking for an Exemption from Work Requirements

The best way to protect SNAP is to ensure that eligible adults claim an exemption from work requirements. People who meet an exemption will be able to keep their SNAP until their next annual renewal.

CLS has developed a new screener that can be used to create a form the individual can give to the County Assistance Office to identify whether they should be exempt from the SNAP work requirements.

Use CLS's new screener to check for an exemption.

Once you the form is generated the screening tool will tell the individual what they need to do to confirm the exemption with the County Assistance Office.
