Ready To Stay Launches New National Resource Hub to Protect Immigrant Communities, Support Organization
Ready to Stay, co-chaired by the National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA), the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC), and UnidosUS, is a national coalition of organizations increasing legal capacities and coordination efforts for large-scale community protection and rapid response efforts ahead of anticipated increased enforcement efforts.
The new resource hub – readytostay.org – aims to provide immigrants and advocates with the latest information on immigration laws and trusted resources. Ready to Stay, anchored by leading immigrant organizations with reach across 50 states, serves as a national resource by centralizing the creation and curation of legal resources, community education tools, and capacity building training opportunities that will increase coordination and resources across the field.
Said Nicole Melaku, Executive Director, NPNA “As we face an era of increased enforcement and misinformation with a new administration, we know we can rely on the power of our stakeholder community to do the difficult work ahead. For the last four years, Ready to Stay has built a working coalition of trusted legal service providers, advocates, and nonprofits to respond to moments like this. NPNA is proud to stand alongside our colleagues who are ready to work together in the months and years ahead to be an effective resource for those navigating their way through immigration issues either as a provider or as an individual looking for a good source for information.”
Laura Vazquez, Director, Immigrant Integration, UnidosUS, “We are proud to stand with our partners to provide accurate information that can be disseminated by advocates across the country to immigrants and their families. We must also provide opportunities for people from all walks of life who want to stand with immigrants to join us and use the Ready to Stay resources and tools in their communities and neighborhoods to be allies and advocates so that we can look forward to a future where a path to citizenship is a real and accessible way forward and people can live without fear.”
Angelica Salas, Executive Director, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, said: “Having a centralized location where community members from any part of the country can go to find vital resources that may assist their fight to keep their families together is critical and welcomed. We stand with our partners and allies in strength and purpose to let our community know they are not alone.”
Rodrigo Camarena, Justicia Lab & Pro Bono Net said “ReadytoStay.org is a testament to our movement’s ability to come together and create a shared digital information hub for immigrants seeking to navigate this challenging moment. Through our national directory of over 1,000 nonprofit immigration legal service providers, immigration policy learning center, and advocate guides developed by leading national immigration experts, we are delivering an all-in-one solution for communities in search of reliable immigration information. Justicia Lab is proud to join the dozens or national immigrant advocate groups who are joining forces through the Ready to Stay coalition.”
Anna Gallagher, Executive Director, CLINIC. “We are honored to join hundreds of organizations nationwide in leading efforts to provide our communities with trusted, reliable, and accurate information through Ready to Stay. Every day, we witness the invaluable contributions immigrants make to the fabric of this nation, and we remain dedicated to ensuring they and their families have access to the legal support they need to navigate complex processes and keep their families together.”
