Join North Penn Legal Services during Fair Housing Awareness Month for an overview of the role of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) in addressing housing discrimination.
The free program, entitled An Overview of the PHRC and the Path of a PHRC Complaint, will be be held virtually on April 25, 2024 from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM Eastern.
This year we have the opportunity to learn from Heather Roth, Regional Director for the PHRC Harrisburg region. Ms. Roth will review the elements needed to prove a housing discrimination claim under the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. She will also provide an in-depth explanation of the life of a housing discrimination claim, from filing to resolution.
About Heather Roth
Heather Roth joined the PHRC in January of 2013 as the Regional Director for the Harrisburg region. The Harrisburg Regional office serves 36 counties in PA. Roth's role is to direct and manage the investigative work of the staff as well as to conduct outreach and training for the communities in which the office serves.
Roth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University where she studied Public Relations. Roth has held professional certifications in human resources since 2004. She obtained her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute in 2010.
PA CLE Credit: 1.5 Substantive Credits (Distance-Learning)
The Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has set the following requirements for 2023 and 2024:
For compliance periods ending in 2022 and thereafter, or until further modification by the Board, the number of credits earned through accredited pre-recorded/on-demand (asynchronous) programs shall not exceed six (6).
Credits earned through accredited live-online (synchronous) programs shall be treated the same as traditional classroom courses. Only credits earned through live-online and in-person/classroom courses taken during this period may carry forward (up to two compliance periods).
