Legal Aid of Southeastern PA is hosting a virtual training entitled Disaster Legal Services and Disaster Preparedness Training on October 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Eastern. 

Offering disaster legal services comes with a unique set of challenges, including the fact that attorneys and their offices are impacted along with their clients. Legal Aid offices across a multitude of states including Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee are inoperable and seeking out-of-state pro bono assistance while disaster recovery continues. The hour-long presentation will discuss:

1. What disaster legal services are and how Legal Aid programs can assist in natural disasters (a refresher for those who attended last year's disaster training and new material for everyone else),
2. How FEMA disaster assistance and CBDG-DR programs work in both direct services to clients and our own personal use, and
3. Tips and tricks on how to stay prepared for a natural disaster including some take-home resources for personal use
