Office of Attorney General is Hoping to Contact Consumers Due Restitution from Vision Property Management Litigation

Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that the Office of Attorney General is trying to locate certain consumers who are entitled to restitution from a settlement earlier this year with Vision Property Management regarding illegal rent-to-own arrangements in Pennsylvania.

The Office of Attorney General is asking anyone who was in a “rent to own” or “agreement for deed” arrangement with Vision Property Management, or its subsidiaries, between 2011 and 2019 — but has not been deeded a home and has not already received communication from the Office of Attorney General — to contact our office.

Per the settlement, restitution may be available to those consumers. If you feel you qualify, please reach out to the Office of Attorney General, immediately, at 1-800-441-2555 or www.attorneygeneral.gov.

The office expects to finalize the distribution list by November 15.

The restitution money is available as a result of consent decrees with certain Vision companies and defendant Archway Community Properties regarding a lawsuit initially filed in 2019.

Separately from the consumers owed restitution, the Office of Attorney General’s litigation resulted in approximately 250 consumers being deeded homes under “rent to own” contracts with Vision Property Management, as ordered by the Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. The funds available for distribution are not for consumers who were already deeded homes.
