Neighborhood Legal Services is hosting its 60th Anniversary Evening on October 6, 2026 at the UPMC Club in Acrisure Stadium, 100 Art Rooney Avenue Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212. 

The event will begin with a VIP reception at 5:00 PM and a General Cocktail Reception at 5:30 PM. Dinner and the formal Program will begin at 6:30 PM.

For sixty years, Neighborhood Legal Services has stood at the forefront of advancing access to justice for individuals and families across Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Join leaders from the legal, business, philanthropic, and civic communities for a landmark evening honoring the advocates, partnerships, and vision that have shaped this enduring legacy and the future of justice in the region.

The event promises to be a memorable evening, featuring stories, awards, speakers and special guests who have supported the mission of NLS through it’s 60-year history.

Founders' Award

This award is jointly being presented to Ken Gormley, former President and current Chancellor and Professor of Law at Duquesne University, and Mark A. Nordenberg, Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Pittsburgh, whose visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to public service, and enduring support for access to justice have strengthened the legal profession, expanded opportunity, and advanced the promise of equal justice for all.
 

The Honorable R. Stanton Wettick, Jr. Legacy of Justice Award

Presented to the Honorable Maureen P. Kelly, Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania, an individual whose career has advanced equal justice, strengthened the legal profession, and inspired future generations to serve the public.
 

60th Anniversary Tribute

A special tribute to Robert V. Racunas, Esq., for a lifetime of leadership advancing equal justice presented in grateful recognition of four decades of visionary leadership as Executive Director of Neighborhood Legal Services.
 

Pillar of Justice Award

Presented to the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership, honoring the alliance of law firms, corporate legal departments, court administration, and legal advocates whose signature projects and vital support structure have shaped the region’s pro bono ecosystem and advanced our shared commitment to equal justice for decades.

The 60th Anniversary Celebration is not simply a reflection on the past. NLS ensures that the law remains a source of protection — not a barrier. Proceeds from the event will directly support NLS’s core legal programs and help ensure that these services remain available as community needs continue to grow.
