In July 2025, Congress passed H.R.1, a law that will fundamentally change how Pennsylvanians access healthcare and other public benefits. 

As these new policies take effect, Pennsylvania Health Law Project, Community Legal Services, the Pennsylvania Health Access Network (PHAN), and Just Harvest are convening the Benefits Access Coalition. 

Join the Coalition on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 2:00PM for their next Benefits Access Coalition training: How to Navigate Medicaid Work Requirements. 

Medicaid work requirements take effect on January 1, 2027 and Pennsylvania beneficiaries need to be ready. This session will provide a review of the new work requirements, including who is subject to them, implementation timeline, who is exempt, what information consumers will receive and how they can demonstrate compliance and exemptions. Attendees will leave with a working understanding of the work requirements and strategies for helping people obtain and retain coverage. 

Over the next few months, the Benefits Access Coalition will lead a series of trainings for statewide organizations looking to learn more about public benefits eligibility, upcoming policy changes, and how to get involved to protect access to benefits programs in Pennsylvania.
