The PLAN Employment Law Group will hold a meeting/training on  Friday, June 2, 2023, in at the Hilton Harrisburg Hotel. The meeting with feature the new leadership of the UC system. 

We have confirmed the attendance of DLI Acting Secretary Nancy Walker and Deputy Secretary Maria Macus and are excited about the new vision and commitment they bring to solving the intractable problems of the UC system that our clients have experienced since the pandemic and Ben Mod. They are looking forward to meeting and hearing from you.

The program will also include:

• A discussion of the UC appeals system with Melissa Stover, who is currently transitioning into the role of Appeals Administrator;
• A discussion of approaches to handling difficult UC issues (whatever they are at that time); and
• An update on Act 163 (allowing reduction or waiver of most criminal court debt for inability to pay) and Clean Slate 3.0 (the bill that would extend automated sealing to most drug felonies).

This program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 4.0 hours of substantive law, practice and procedure CLE credit.

Attendees will get a special rate which PLAN has negotiated but will be responsible for payment of the overnight accommodations and parking upon checkout.

The cost of a room is $159 per night plus tax and $10 per day for parking. Day attendees will need to get their parking pass validated and will be responsible for paying for their parking at $10 per day.

Staff members of PLAN Network programs can request reimbursement from their program and your program can then ask PLAN for reimbursement.

The deadline for getting a room at the discounted rate is Friday, May 19, 2023. The room block is limited and first come first serve.

Travel Expenses

STAFF OF PLAN NETWORK PROGRAMS ONLY may request reimbursement for travel in the form of mileage, tolls, train, etc. and parking.  You will need to pay the upfront costs and then submit your requests to your programs to be submitted to PLAN for reimbursement. All requests must be accompanied by receipts.
