PA IOLTA Board Releases Annual Report 2024

2024 PA IOLTA Annual Report CoverThe Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (PA IOLTA) Board has announced the release of the Pennsylvania IOLTA Board’s 2024 Annual Report.

The IOLTA Board awards grants that support the provision of free legal assistance to low-income Pennsylvanians in civil matters where a basic human need, such as access to shelter, nutrition, or healthcare, is at stake.

In 2024, the IOLTA Board provided more than $30 million in financial support to 33 legal aid organizations, Pennsylvania’s nine law schools, and the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation for the delivery of civil legal aid to low-income Pennsylvanians. The client stories featured in the report represent just two of the many civil legal problems resolved by our grantees for low-income clients across the Commonwealth every day.

Included in this report is a sub-report on a special 6-year grant program financed with a distribution of funds from a 2014 settlement between the U.S. Department of Justice and Bank of America restricted for foreclosure prevention and community redevelopment legal assistance.

A full evaluative report of the work funded under the community redevelopment legal assistance category was published by the Reinvestment Fund and is available on the IOLTA Board website, www.paiolta.org, under the menu About PA IOLTA >Other Reports.

Every attorney in Pennsylvania contributes to the IOLTA Board’s mission through a portion of their annual attorney registration fee. The Annual Report is distributed widely every year to promote transparency and trust in the Board's administration of funds for civil legal aid.

The IOLTA Board extends its deepest gratitude to the attorneys and firms that render pro bono legal services to help narrow the justice gap for those who cannot afford the services of a private attorney.
