Schuylkill Women in Crisis (SWiC) is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1983.  SWiC’s mission is to provide comprehensive services, shelter, and advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. In addition to assisting victims, SWiC works to confront the societal issues that contribute to this problem. SWiC is motivated by the belief that all individuals are entitled to live free of the fear and pain caused by emotional and physical abuse. 


Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the ED will be the key management leader responsible for:

  • Communicating effectively with the Board:  Including providing in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly, grow, and make informed governance decisions.
  • Implementing the strategic plan of the organization.
  • Maintaining the fiscal integrity of SWiC: Maintain working relationships with funding sources. Oversee fiscal activity, including record keeping and reporting, in accordance with the law, agency, and funding source standards and regulations.
  • Uphold to the highest-level community relations, system advocacy and education: Coordinate efforts with other agencies and community resources. Assess needs of the community regarding domestic and sexual violence services. Ensure the provision of information and education to the community.
  • Serve as representative and spokesperson for SWiC in the community and in public communications
  • Grant Management: Work with other assigned staff in researching new funding prospects and preparing new and ongoing grant proposals to support and expand the work of SWiC in accordance with agency philosophy and goals. Monitor grant-funded programs, projects, and services to ensure compliance with contract provisions.
  • Program Administration: Maintain a working relationship with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV). Assure compliance with PCADV Program Standards and other guidelines promulgated by federal, state, and local funders and regulatory agencies.


Advanced degree. 5+ years of senior non-profit management experience. Knowledge and sensitivity to the problem of domestic violence and trauma informed empowerment counseling.  Demonstrated experience with fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector.  Ability to do financial analysis, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting. Strong communication skills and public speaking. Contingent on a child abuse clearance, criminal background check, driving record check, and an FBI Fingerprint check.
