Seizing the Moment: How to Help Clients Apply for Pardons in a New Era of Pardon Reform (Webinar)

Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. is offering a new webinar entitled, Seizing the Moment: How to Help Clients Apply for Pardons in a New Era of Pardon Reform.  This webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The presenter will be Jamie Gullen, Esq. who is with Community Legal Services.

In the past year, the Board of Pardons has undergone substantial changes to its personnel and to its process. The result – there has never been a better time for legal aid clients to apply for pardons and get their place in line!

With a streamlined application process, a new expedited process for people with marijuana convictions, and a Board that is rapidly increasing the numbers of people served, the time is now to help low-income Pennsylvanians get a fresh start.

This webinar will provide an overview of the pardon process, the new application, and the expedited marijuana process, with a focus on tips to incorporate pardon representation into legal aid practice. This session will also discuss the funding available for PLAN programs who take on pardon representation.
