2019 PLAN Public Benefits Training – Pittsburgh/Cranberry Township

Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. will be holding the 2019 PLAN Public Benefits Training-Pittsburgh/Cranberry Township on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 9:30 – 4:30 at the Courtyard Pittsburgh North/Cranberry Woods, 150 Cranberry Woods Drive, Cranberry Township, PA  16066. 

The training will be geared mainly to advocates without a lot of public benefits experience.  We have not completely finalized the agenda, but at this point we plan to do sessions on: welfare 101, welfare and family law; welfare and housing; and immigrant eligibility for public benefits.

Registration is free to staff and client board members of the following PA Legal Aid Network (PLAN) programs: CJP, CLS, FoF, LLS, LASP, MPLS, NLSA, NPLS, NWLS, PHLP, PILP, PLA, PULP, RHLS and SWPLS. .  Registration for staff of non-PLAN public interest, government, or other non profit organization is $150.00.  The cost for all other registrants is $250.00. 

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for attendees of the training.  PLAN will cover the costs of the CLE credits.  PLAN is also able to offer, for this training, reimbursement for travel expenses such as mileage, tolls and parking for two attendees from each of the PLAN programs. These reimbursements are for training attendees only.

CLE Credit:

This program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 3.5 hours of substantive law, practice and procedure CLE credit and 1.0 hours of ethics, professionalism or substance abuse CLE credit.
