Debit Card Program for Unemployment Compensation Benefits

Pennsylvania has announced significant improvements to the debit card program that Treasury uses to disburse unemployment and workers’ compensation payments that will become effective in March 2013. The program is estimated to save Pennsylvanians $5.2 million per year in transaction fees.

The National Consumer Law Center is also rating the new system highly and has released a report, available below, that announces that the PA debit card program will be one of only 3 in the nation to earn a "two thumbs up" rating from the NCLC.
