Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. and Community Legal Services of Philadelphia are proud to announce an all-day training on how to file a bankruptcy to save a homeowner's home. This introductory level course is designed for advocates new to the field of mortgage foreclosure and bankruptcy.

In the morning, we will cover why and when to file a chapter 13 bankruptcy to save a home. In the afternoon, we will walk advocates through the initial client interview; completing and filing the bankruptcy petition, schedules, and plan; representing clients at the initial meeting of creditors; filing an objection to proof of claim and motion to avoid a lien; and, finally, representing at the confirmation hearing. This training is open to all PLAN program members and intended for attorneys and paralegals.

PLAN will cover the cost of the CLE credits for PLAN Program staff. PLAN is also able to offer, for this training, reimbursement for travel expenses such as mileage, tolls, and parking for two attendees from each of the PLAN programs. Parking will be covered at the standard parking garage daily rate. Carpooling is still expected when appropriate. If an overnight room is needed that will be decided on a case-by-case basis and attendee(s) will need to contact Kelly Bock Yeckley at kbockyeckley@palegalaid.net or 717-236-9486 ext. 201. We are able to offer these reimbursements for this training but may not be able to do so in the future.

We will be offering 4.5 substantive CLE credits for this training.

Lunch will be provided for attendees of the training.
