Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network

The Pennsylvania Utility Law Project (PULP), through the PLAN Utility Law Group, will be hosting a webinar on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm to review the proposed 2018 Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) state plan and solicit interested individuals to file comments on various aspects of the plan.
While there is broad bipartisan support for LIHEAP, there is significant uncertainty concerning the federal LIHEAP appropriation given the President’s decision to propose elimination of the program. In response to this proposal, the Department of Human Services has decided to act very cautiously and has proposed significant reductions in grant amounts for FY18, as well as a delayed opening date.
Please consider joining the webinar to learn more about what DHS is proposing and ways to get involved. For questions regarding the webinar or the proposed state plan please contact PULP at pciceropulp@palegalaid.net
