This training will be held as a Pre-Conference Event on September 27, 2017 prior to the formal 2017 Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Conference on September 28-29, 2017.

Separate registration for the 2017 Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Conference is required for those planning to attend the conference in addition to this Administrative Hearing Skills Training.

This interactive training is geared towards newer attorneys and paralegals and will combine lecture with two small group workshops. The goal of this training is to assist public interest attorneys in honing their administrative hearing skills. 

The training is limited to THE FIRST THIRTY REGISTRANTS.  Registrations exceeding thirty will be waitlisted.

Experienced attorneys and paralegals are welcome to attend should space be available.  However, priority will be given to our intended audience.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS SESSION WILL INVOLVE HOMEWORK.  ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED WELL IN ADVANCE OF THIS TRAINING.

Program Agenda

Registration

Registration is free to staff of the following PA Legal Aid Network (PLAN) programs:  CJP, CLS, FoF, LLS, LASP, MPLS, NLSA, NPLS, NWLS, PHLP, PILP, PLA, PULP, RHLS and SPLS. Registration includes meals.   Registration for staff of non-PLAN public interest, government or other nonprofit organization is $175.  The cost for all other registrants is $350. 

CLE Credits

The Administrative Hearing Skills Training program on September 27 has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for a maximum of 7.0 hours of CLE credit substantive law, practice and procedure. 

Hotel Accomodations

The cost for a hotel room is $141 per night plus tax, for single or double occupancy and $10 for self parking.  To receive hotel reservations at the conference rate, PLAN Member Program Staff must check the box on the registration indicating they will need a room for the night of September 26, 2017. If you need a hotel room and are a NON-PLAN Member Program staff person please indicate your need on the registration form and PLAN will make the reservation for you but you will need to provide payment for the room on your own.
